Come and spend a delightful time with your family at the Aubechies’ archaeological site, an open-air museum that will introduce you to the history of the region’s civilisations from the Neolithic to the Roman era. A fun educational activity for the whole family!

Condroz

Near Mozet, an archaeologist will take you into the depths of the Grotte de Goyet to discover this prestigious prehistoric site. (Reopening end 2021)

Just a short distance from Sosoye, don’t miss a ride on the rail-bikes between Falaën and Maredsous! On board a small pedal car, you can take the old railway line and discover the beautiful Molignée valley. Walk or cycle along the former 150 Tamines – Dinant railway line, now transformed into part of the RAVeL. And for those who are more curious, a visit to the impressive abbeys of Maredsous and Maredret is a must!

Just a short distance from the village of Thon-Samson, you can discover the depths of the Earth! A prehistoric excavations site listed as part of Wallonia’s exceptional heritage. You will learn about our civilisation’s past visiting the Scladina cave and the museum. Let’s not forget the sporty types! You will find the RAVeL de la Meuse nearby.

Come to the Aquascope on the banks of the Virelles pond, near Lompret. This educational centre will plunge you into the heart of a rich and preserved nature. For those who wish to mix educational and sporting discoveries, Line 156 of the RAVeL offers pleasant surprises: forests, hedged farmland, the Fagne, the castle of the Princes of Chimay, the Aquascope of Virelles, the pretty train of the Three Valleys, a river, nature reserves, … Enough to make enjoyable nature walks with the family!

For the sporty ones: My is the starting point for many walks and bike rides. A great way to discover the rural heritage and the region. A short distance from there, come and have fun with your family at the Palogne estate or visit the Logne Fortress in Vieuxville. Discover the history of this medieval site and admire the great objects of the daily life of the lords and knights of the Middle Ages in the museum housed in the former farmhouse “La Bouverie”. For the most adventurous, take on the meandering river Ourthe, which will delight kayakers, hikers and climbers looking for sensational thrills!

About 5 kilometres from Ny, Open the door to Riveo and enter the fabulous world of the river, a surprising world of diversity, natural riches to discover with your family! As you pass through the village, take the pre-RAVeL of Line 620 for a rural walk through fields and groves between Hotton and Erezée.

Do you have an urge to admire the natural scenery surroundings of Vierves-sur-Viroin? Don’t miss the chance to board the 3 Valleys steam train, which runs from Mariembourg to Treignes through the village! For the enjoyment of young and old alike, the Steam Railway Museum, housed in the old Treignes station, exhibits old steam locomotives and diesel railcars. On the way, stop at the Arthur Masson Space at the entrance to the village. Immerse yourself in the life of yesteryear or take a trip to the “Ecole d’Autrefois”, a classroom reconstructed as it was in 1932! With the Timer Game, get your brain working by solving puzzles and tests in less than 60 minutes! Thanks to Explo’Village, discover the village of Olloy-sur-Viroin with your family. You will be surprised by an incredible discovery in the countryside surrounding the village of Wéris: megalithic complexes from the first half of the 3rd millennium BC! It is the best-preserved site in Wallonia! Come and discover the ‘Devil’s Bed’ and the ‘Haina Stone’. And to prepare for your visit, go to the Maison des Mégalithes where you can learn more about dolmens, menhirs and their builders…!

In Lorraine, marvel at the views of the magnificent Semois valley and the waters flowing through the village of Chassepierre. Go on a two-wheeled adventure along line 165 A of the RAVeL for a journey through extensive wooded areas! And during the month of August, don’t miss the “International Street Arts Festival”, the oldest festival of its kind in Europe dedicated to street art! Circus shows, puppets, plastic arts, theatre, dance and music set the whole village on fire!
