In the vicinity of Celles, perched on its rocky spur and dominating the Lesse valley, come and discover one of the most beautiful medieval castles in Belgium! As the Sleeping Beauty castle, with its magnificent towers and beautiful woodwork, the Château de Vêves, listed as an exceptional heritage site of Wallonia, seems to have come straight out of a fairy tale! Stay in the heart of the village in a beautiful, charming 19th-century residence. And as a happy ending, enjoy the short climb to the Saint-Hadelin Hermitage. It offers a remarkable view of the area!

Near Falaën, the ruins of Montaigle castle will incite the poet in you! With some imagination, you will be transported to the Middle Ages. The valleys of the Molignée and the Meuse also reveal the romantic remains of ancient fortresses. It’s the ideal starting point for a great getaway for two!

Another region, another romantic opportunity in the Pays de Herve!
In Clermont-sur-Berwinne, you can find several accommodations and gastronomic stops, such as the Charmes-Chambertin, located in an impressive building from 1739 or the gite of the Château de Crawhez and its wellness area located in an old farmhouse next to the castle built in 1551. Make your stay more enjoyable by soaking up the atmosphere of the Place de la Halle, with its old town hall, which spans the main street and is now used as a wedding hall. That is why in Clermont we say “we get married in the street”!

Head for the village of Limbourg, where you will stroll through the Saint-Georges square and wander through streets and alleys lined with charming houses. Soak up the medieval atmosphere of the city walls, castles, church and fountain. This former stronghold offers splendid views of the surrounding area and is the ideal starting point for rural walks through the hedged farmland of the Pays de Herve or into the green Ardennes.

Head for the Fagne-Famenne region, where you can wander through the largest megalithic site in Belgium, on the edge of the village of Wéris. Dolmens, menhirs and legendary stones will bathe you in an atmosphere of mystery. Don’t forget to stop at one of the charming establishments in the area!
