Soiron: in the land of thistles
A green refuge of groves, orchards and grasslands in the hollow of a valley watered by the clear waters of the Bola, Soiron is discreet but not forgotten.

Take off on a discovery of the rich heritage and points of interest of Soiron.
In the locality, there are no street names to guide you, just places that reveal, through pretty alleys, a Mosan renaissance-style habitat of the 17th and 18th centuries. At the heart of the village, the church of Saint-Roch, completely out of proportion to the place! It had to be rebuilt around an unusually high altar of the Cistercian Abbey of Boneffe.
The cemetery, the former presbytery and the two castles are also noteworthy. Crosses, shrines, a washhouse and a brewery, add to the picturesque character of the village.
One particularly strange building will draw your attention. Standing tall with 160 holes, this dryer bears witness to a bygone era: the growth of the thistle!
