The “Most Beautiful Villages on Earth” federates the Most Beautiful Villages throughout the world and promotes the rural, historical and cultural heritage of places to discover in different countries.

A little background: The association “Les Plus Beaux Villages de France” (The Most Beautiful Villages in France), created in 1982, has inspired other countries that are also faced with the challenge of preserving and promoting their rural and landscape heritage. “Les Plus Beaux Villages de Wallonie” was created in 1994, followed by Quebec in 1998, Italy in 2001 and Japan in 2005.

In 2003, because of their European proximity, the French, Walloon and Italian networks laid the foundations for cooperation by creating the association “Les Plus Beaux Villages de la Terre”!
