The must-sees

Rural Heritage

As you explore the rural countryside, with charming names such as Blanchamps, Cocriamont, Gravelotte, the fields of Marais or the field of Hymnée, Ragnies stands out. In the centre of this village along the Marais stream, the discovery of the partially Roman Saint-Martin church is worth a visit! The other half of the remarkable oak stalls are located in a very similar church in Cockayne, England! You can also discover the “Spanish House” as well as the large farms spread out in the agricultural landscape and which are the pride of the “ragnicoles” (inhabitants of Ragnies). Formerly properties belonging to the Lobbes Abbey, these large farms of limestone and brick have names such as “Courtyard Farm”, “Pink Farm”, and “Oak Farm”, and are real miniature villages, with dwellings, barns, stables, workshops, etc.

After a walk through fields and narrow streets steeped in history, there is no doubt that the more festive types will not be able to resist the pleasure of savouring the fruit juice wines and typical alcohols of the no less renowned Biercée distillery. Lastly, a game of life-size golf awaits sports lovers in the heart of the town!
