At the northern entrance to the village, a building straight out of the imagination of its designer and owner.
At the northern entrance to the village, a building straight out of the imagination of its designer and owner.
At the northern entrance to the village, here is a building that leaves no one indifferent.
Its shape and size are far removed from the traditional volumes of the village. However, it comes close to it by the use of recycled materials such as sandstone, limestone and slate.
Its volume grows as the vast surrounding landscape opens up. The masonry is dense and tapers to make room for the gable openings. Wood is omnipresent in all its forms. A large slate carapace covers the whole in an interplay of roofs that cascade down. This interweaving of volumes and materials brings rhythm and harmony to the whole.
Inside, shapes, colours and textures come together in an imaginative atmosphere created by a man with a passion for materials and nature.
