Probably located on the site of an older building, significant resources were devoted to its reconstruction between the 16th and 18th centuries.

The chronological order of these works follows the overall plan of the church, from the tower to the choir.

Thus, the porch tower, open at its base by pointed cross bays, dates back to 1589. The transept and choir date from the 18th century. The limestone applied to all the facings visually links the different stages of construction, ensuring the exterior homogeneity of the building.

The interior is full of architectural details such as Tuscan pillars, panelled cradles covering the central nave, a paving of terracotta and grey and pink marble, as well as interesting 18th century monuments and tombstones showing men and women with various profiles, from priests to marble workers, from lawyers to butlers.
