The 'petite Honnelle' Valley
Honnelles: one commune and two rivers
Honnelles: one commune and two rivers
The commune of Honnelles is inseparable from the waterways that have shaped its landscape and its identity.
Two rivers, with their capricious courses, have given their name to the entity.
Sisters of water and of character, the ‘Grande’ and ‘Petite’ Honnelles have cut into the silty plateau, making their way through the land and rocks.
To the east, the ‘Petite Honnelle’ joins Montignies-sur-Roc. Time sometimes seems to have stood still here. Here and there, the built heritage reminds us that water was an important economic vector for a long time.
