The high cliff of Franc Bois has watched over the village and the remains of the feudal castle since ancient times.

The suggested walk takes you through a natural environment full of calm and diversity, where the forest valleys combine harmoniously with the white waters of the rivers. A rare feature is that the walk takes place almost entirely in a Natura 2000 site included in a Landscape Interest Area.

So take a stroll, admire the winding meanders, the limestone lawns, the native yew trees, and the restored old orchards and enjoy the scenery!

  • Historic core of Lompret: listed site
  • Terne Meuny: former castle gardens, “Grotte de Lompret” nature reserve and remarkable trees: classified Dutch lime trees
  • Vallée de l’Eau Blanche: “Natura 2000” site of great biological interest
  • Étangs de Virelles nature reserve (off itinerary 250m)
  • RAVeL (outside the 500m itinerary): Chimay-Mariembourg line and old viaduct
  • Viewpoint: Village of Vaulx
  • Limestone grassland: Site of Great Biological Interest “Natura 2000
  • Panorama “Roche du Camp Romain” – Landscape area (off the 500m route): Village of Lompret and Vallée de l’Eau Blanche
  • Classified site of the Franc Bois (outside the 500m route): Endemic yew station: Exceptional heritage of Wallonia
