The brick-clad facades, ornamental details and architectural style similar to that of the church, in a limestone building context, show the status of this public building dating from 1855.
In a built environment dominated by the grey of the limestone, the building emerges with the coloured touches of the brick. It adopts an architectural style close to that of the church and deliberately departs from that of village farms to mark its central role in the village life of the past.
Dating from 1855, the building contained a classroom and the local council chamber.
The architectural details confirm its status: elaborate ashlar frames, corner quoins, base and string of limestone…
