The Ardennes appears as a wide, high schistose plateau incised by a multitude of valleys with often deeply incised slopes.
Originating on a peaceful cultivated plateau, the Semois, a tributary of the Meuse, meanders through this isolated and picturesque valley, with large, deep meanders and perched villages with magnificent views.
