"Château Mascart" or "Spanish House" in Ragnies
A traditional style tinged with baroque for this remarkable early 18th century building.
A traditional style tinged with baroque for this remarkable early 18th century building.
Built at the beginning of the 18th century in a traditional style tinged with baroque, this remarkable brick and limestone building was probably part of the possessions of the abbey of Lobbes.
The presence of cross windows and the use of rubble stones in the base are evidence of its age.
The alignment of the façade and the garden wall, as well as the two-storey dwelling with its high gable roof, accentuate the impression of massiveness and impose the building on the built landscape.
An atmosphere of harmony emanates from the details that abound in the façade: corner ties, frames, limestone bands, etc.
