The Abbey of Orval : its ruins and its museums

Description

The Abbey of Orval is one of the most remarkable Cistercian abbeys of Belgium. Come and discover this place full of History and famous for its trappiest beer in one of the most regions of Belgium : the Gaume. The Abbey of Orval, founded in 1132, is still occupied by a community of monks that produce the famous beer of Orval and its cheese. You will get to know the secrets of the brewing knowledge in the museum. To enhance your visit, discover the monastic museum (history, steel industry, sacred art), watch an audio-video montage about the history of the monastery and the monks’ life. Discover the medicinal herbs garden and the museum of the traditional pharmacy. To the Guardian Angel ( “L’Ange Gardien”, restaurant) Enjoy a splendid view on the Abbey of Orval, in a quiet place with your family, your friends or in a group, to savour the products of Orval: cheese and beer and, in exclusivity, draught green Orval!
