From its small promontory in the shelter of the Molignée, it watches over the village - listed monument
Standing on a small promontory sheltered from the overflowing Molignée, the little church of Notre-Dame de Sosoye watches over the village, which is entwined around it.
Here, there are no ornaments or high spires reaching for the sky. The building, sober and homogeneous, retains a dimension that reflects the village and is anchored in the land by the use of local materials.
Built between the presbytery and the tithe barn, the present church dates from 1764.
All these buildings undoubtedly contribute to the quality of Sosoye’s heritage. This value was officially recognised by the classification of part of the village as a site and the church as a monument in 1975.
