Fountains in Ny
Ny, a place where stone and water are combined.
Ny, a place where stone and water are combined.
The village of Ny owes its beauty to the marriage of stone and water. The village is dotted with streams and limestone fountains lining the main street, which is quite naturally called “Rue des Fontaines”. In Ny, the sound of trickling water has long been the rhythm of rural life in the past.
As a public place where women washed their clothes by hand, where they got water and where the cattle came to drink, fountains and troughs were the focus of village life.
