Land of Herve
Nestled within the hills of the "Pays de Herve", bordering the deep valleys of the Ardennes, only the slate spire of the San Sebastian church signals the presence of the small village of Olne.

The buildings of Olne are withness of flourishing artisanal activities, culminating in the 18th century. Quarrers, potters, drapers and especially nailers clustered together defining a small urban center imersed in the countryside. Older rural buildings, both in the center and scaterd in the countryside proudly attest of the long relationship between men and the landscape.
As the industrial revolition favored larger infrastructe in Liège and Verviers, here agriculture prevailed as the dominant source of income.
Thoughout centuries, limestone and brick invariably materialse the constructions, leaving us manors and modest workers homes, resulting in a harmonious whole seen from the streets or the paths winding through the fields: Olne, a city returned to the fields...
