Limbourg
Once the capital of the Duchy of Limburg, an impregnable fortress, Limburg's former stronghold has a unique strategic position beside the Vesdre, between the bocage of Herve and the Ardennes.
Sitting on a steep rock, Limburg is listed amongst Wallonia's exceptional architectural heritage. As well as the site, several unique monuments have been listed since the 1980s. If you want to escape the hectic pace of modern life, come and stroll along the historic Place Saint-Georges and the Vesdre river shingle. Wander through streets lined with lovingly conserved houses. Saint-Georges Church, the justice of peace (Arvô), châteaux, fountain of the Virgin and stone table are just some of the architectural features that will take you back to the Middle Ages. You can also enjoy the stunning views over the surrounding area and Hertogenwald in particular. Welcome to the place we call home!
