Auberge du Grandgousier
Mirwart, a small well-hidden village between Rochefort and Saint-Hubert, perches its few houses and towering 18th-century château above Lomme Valley, opposite 1,300 hectares of deep forest.
After cutting his teeth in several leading restaurants and aboard riverboats on the Saône in France, Philippe and Katrien, both locals, took over the Auberge du Grandgousier in early 1990, a beautiful local stone house that serves sophisticated gourmet cuisine to up to forty guests.
Heavy oak beams, creaking wood staircase, rustic decoration and flowers inside and out all give this barn conversion an authentic charm.
The nine guestrooms will enable you to stay as long as you need to explore the region's many attractions. Guests will soon feel at home in the family atmosphere.
